Citizenship Competence Programme

Summary:
The activity offers basic skills to the most marginalised people in the community, promoting free and equal-opportunity access to literacy classes, ICT courses and English classes.

This activity aims at enhancing citizenship competences through targeted trainings, namely Literacy Classes, IT trainings and English Language Classes.

Pilot courses have been launched for Illiteracy Eradication Classes and IT trainings.

Literacy classes for women and girls started in December 2007 and will be continued in 2008. The courses have been realized thanks to the partnership COSPE established with the Ministry of Communication “ICT Trust Fund” within the framework of the initiative IT4IE (IT for Illiteracy Eradication). TOT for teachers has been provided by the Ministry of Communication in the framework of the agreement between COSPE and IT4IE Project. Literacy classes are organized on a computer-based method and software successfully experimented in previous interventions.

ICT trainings are organized for the community, mainly involving young girls and boys, students and teachers. Such courses will enhance CDAs Staff managerial skills, but also widen job opportunities for people in the community. Pilot Courses started in December 2007 and will be continued in 2008.
