Environmental campaign –Together with the local community to clean Hekr Abu Douma – Rod El Farag District

On Sunday the 16th of August at 10.00 AM, the Cairo North Project in cooperation with different local actors working to support the participation of communities in the development of their surrounding environment, an environmental campaign including cleaning, vegetation planting on street platforms, painting of front façades of homes, will be launched in parallel to an awareness campaign for the Hekr Abou Douma area located in Rod El Farag. The streets covered will include Ali Bahloul, Ewees Albehery, and Nasr El Din. The event is organized under the auspices of and sponsored by General Adel Abdulhaseeb (Rod El Farag District Manager) in cooperation with the Cairo North Project and local community organizations (Al Resala, Al Mohamadia Association and Mosque, Mary Georges Church, as well as with the students of Samy Al Baroudy School.

The local community has been mobilized to participate in the cleaning and development of the Hekr Abou Douma area and to support the district efforts through the local committee which has been created by the Cairo North project, local associations, religious leaders, local leaders, and educational institutions. All citizens are invited to participate to the event as well as to keep the area clean.

This initiative is meant to highlight the importance of community participation and cooperation with local entities in the development of Egyptian communities. Interested media were invited to join.
