Planting trees and flowers and building flower beds and other “green corners” in the schools’ courtyards proved to be a very successful activity. The event witnessed a pretty involvement of parents whose participation and contribution, either financially or in-kind, took place in providing blocks, plants, and helping the students in planting preparation inside the schools. At Nasser school the parents insisted to pay the costs of the school gates maintenance which was planned to be paid by the project, while at Ramel school students and parents where so proud of their green corner as to send us a package full of planted products. This event proved also to be a useful tool for enhancing the direct participation of the parents in the schools’ activities as well as the decisional role of the parents’ councils .
