Promoting Fair Trade

Summary:
Intertwining Capacity Building with Product Development and Marketing activities with a Fair Trade Approach

The Project is focusing on 3 main essentials in crafts industry, which will have impact & effect on the other components:

PRODUCERS are the base of community development. They are considered as a steering element in the local crafts industry.

PRODUCTS are the tangible results of community and producers’ cultural heritage. Handicrafts products have unique characteristics; they reflect the history, the culture ad the local traditions, being environmental friendly.

MARKETS are the link between the local community and the national or international context, the producers and the consumers, and represent the sustainability of the handicrafts industry. Market trends influence also product development; moreover Fair Trade favours a correct approach towards responsible production and consumption patterns. Accordingly Craft Project is working through 3 main pivotal directions.
